Energy Savings Tips

  1. Monitor energy use - You can pick up a Plug Load Meter from your local hardware store to plug into an outlet that you use, it will display the amount of energy being used at that plug.
  2. Install dimmer switches
  3. Add a motion sensor
  4. Set a programmable thermostat
  5. Buy an insulating blanket for your hot water heater
  6. Install an Energy Star Rated Ceiling Fan
  7. Install weather stripping around windows and doors to seal in heat and keep out cold (and vice versa)
  8. Replace the aerator on kitchen and bathroom sink faucets - This will reduce the amount of water you use by regulating the force it comes out.
